11/27/2023 0 Comments Subnautica 3 performanceTo ALL of those saying I "Downgraded" My CPU, please go back to Intel and unload your wallets for me, I get almost the SAME single core performance on my Ryrunning at 3.7GHz then I did my I5-7600k within a margin of 5 to 10 points in cinebench (With a bunch of programs open, watching youtube and talking on discord ect) and my multi thread keeps pace with I7 series CPU's and better. ![]() I needed the extra cores so I could run multiple programs without the CPU being pegged and causing slow downs and stutters on stream and Unfortunately I couldn't wait for the new Ryzen CPU's to come out or afford the upfront cost of getting the top of the line model right off the bat. I started streaming, I could not in any way play and stream titles I wanted to with the I5 7600k because it would load the CPU to 100% leaving no room for OBS to run causing stuttering. ![]() However when I switched the CPU utilisation stayed the same (Maxing the I5 but barely touching the Ryzen while still using about the "same" if you could say that as it just "looks" like it's using less.) Number one reason, My performance was tanking hard in Subnautica because the little I5-7600k was maxed playing Subnautica and most other titles when pared with my Vega. I love how trying to troubleshoot it gets no looks, but as soon as it turns into a Intel v AMD or AMD v Invida p1ssing match everyone chimes in thinking they know what the hell they're talking about. (It's counting system memory as dedicated Graphics memory. Question, when setting graphics to low it has an option which says settings involving the terrain wont apply till the game restarts, however there are no terrain settings in the list, are we missing settings?.Īs a note, I've noticed some weird stuff in my GPU, saying it has 20GB of memory so something's gone wonky and going to try and see if there's an error or somehting's set wrong. The same thing also happens if I set to low, I can get around 140FPS in empty areas on default low settings but drops to 60 and then stutters down to 30 when moving around the world in the twisty bridges area. Starting the game and on high with without V-sync I can get around 120fps which uses 100% of the gpu, but going out into the open world my FPS drops in half and the gpu utilisation goes down 60 ton 70% and begins to stutter and drop down to 30 or lower as I move around the world. Game is installed on a Samsung Evo 860 M.2 500GB ![]() (I've noticed this in the original as well, lots of headroom but low frames) I'm seeing massive headroom on all my components (Taken while running Subnautica in areas I get low frames. So I'm kinda pissed, getting crap performance on my old I5-7600k from maxing it out, upgraded recently to a Ryboosted to 3.7GHz and still getting the same thing.
